Moving Memories...

Being married to Don Wilson has taught me a lot about life. I’ve come to understand so much about God’s sense of humor and His determination to teach us who He is through our relationships. Don and I are on opposite ends of the spectrum in so many ways, and yet we both have specific strengths and specific weaknesses. Only God could make such goodness out of disparity. It makes perfect sense for us to be together because where he is weak, I am strong and where I am weak, he is strong. Together we become so much more than either of us could be alone.... Read more

The Great Adventure...

I’ve been thinking about the day I told God He could use my life for whatever He wanted. I was a senior in high school at summer church camp. During the closing song of the final night, I knew that God was calling me, asking me if I would let Him use me. I said yes. A couple of years later, I met a young man named Don Wilson and discovered that about the same time God was calling me, He was also calling him. He said yes, too. It seemed like we had both followed a path that had led us to each other.... Read more

It’s a Generation Thing...

Do you remember being 13? I remember being convinced that my parents had no idea what I was going through. They were way too old to know what it was like to be a teenager. I remember that everything in my life was a matter of life and death and that most of my friends had stuff and did stuff that was off-limits to me. It was rough. In my mind, I had been cursed with parents who cared what I did and had rules for my life. Not that I was a bad kid, really, it’s just that sometimes peer pressure was very hard to ignore.... Holy Lands: Home At Last...

Home at last. I keep thinking of the song lyrics, everybody needs a little time away, from ”Hard to Say I’m Sorry,” by Chicago. I can relate on two levels: 1. Yes, everybody needs a little time away; and 2. everybody needs a little time away from each other. After over two weeks of 24/7 together, I think Don and I are glad we had some time away, but now we’re ready for some time away from each other! Seriously, we had a wonderful time, but are so happy to be back home. Each time we travel to other countries, we come home feeling so blessed to live in the USA.... Read more

Holy Lands Trip: Nazareth and The Se...

What a great trip we are having! There are so many highlights already, that I am almost at a loss as to where to begin. This is my 4th trip to the Holy Lands, the 5th trip for Don, and still we continue to learn something each time we come. To be in the place where Jesus lived as a man, is to be strengthened in the faith that He now lives in each of us.
We have visited all the usual holy spots that tourists and pilgrims come here to see, as well as some that are considered historical. However, even history reflects the influence of Christ, so it’s hard to say that any place is merely historical.... Read more

Holy Lands Trip: The Dead Sea...

Today we left our very nice hotel in Amman, Jordan and loaded up in buses to begin our tour. Our first stop was Mt. Nebo, the place where Moses looked across from Jordan into the Promised Land (Deut. 34), knowing that he would not get to go there. Mt. Nebo is 2700 ft above sea level and from there were headed to the border towards the Dead Sea on the Israeli side which in 1300 ft below sea level, so we traveled quite a range of altitude today....
